Gotovo osam minuta aplauza zaslužio je američki redatelj Wes Anderson nakon svjetske premijere svojeg posljednjeg filma Feničanska spletka u Cannesu. Impresivna vizualnost, začudna priča i puno, puno hollywoodskih zvijezda, što je čarobni sastojak i ostalih Andersonovih filmova, očarali su Croisette.
Nakon predstavljanja na Azurnoj obali, Anderson i ostatak ekipe nastavili su putovati po svijetu kako bi dodatno promovirali film. Tako su i u New Yorku, u čuvenom Lincoln Centru, održali američku premijeru Feničanske spletke. Tamo, pak, nije bilo nikakbvih spletki, ali zato su gosti mogli vidjeti puno glamura.
Uz redatelja Wesa Andersona, ekipu su predvodili glumci Benicio del Toro, Scarlett Johansson i Bryan Cranston. Nisu skrivali oduševljenje što mogu predstaviti film američkoj publici, a redatelj je zadovoljno svim agovorio o filmu.
Beskrupulozan bogataš u prvom planu
“On je tip poslovnog čovjeka koji se uvijek zna prilagoditi. I tako malo mari za istinu”, kazao je Wes Anderson o svojem glavnom liku Anatoleu Kordi, kojega svi zovu Zsa-zsa. On je jako bogat, jednako beskrupulozan, ali i svjestan da ne može zauvijek ostati moćan. Zato i odluči svoju kćer Liesl pripremiti za nasljednicu njegovog carstva.

Kordu glumi Benicio del Toro, dok njegovu kći tumači Mia Threapleton, koju vjerojatno dosad niste zamijetili u drugim filmovima. No, jednako kao i u filmu, Mia i u stvarnosti ima velike cipele za ispuniti. Naime, ona je kći oskarovke Kate Winslet, a brojni ljudi u industriji govore da je naslijedila mamin talent.
Samo Benicio del Toro
Inače, del Toro je bio jedini glumac kojeg je Anderson uopće razmatrao za glavnu ulogu. Barem od onih koji su trenutno živi.
“Ovo je lik kojeg bi mogao glumiti Anthony Quinn, ili možda Lino Ventura, ili Jean Gabin“, kazao je We Anderson. “Da Benicio nije pristao na ulogu, nisam siguran bi li uopće postojala druga opcija. Morali bismo se okrenuti povijesti filma.”
