U filmskom nastavku ove kultne franšize, događa se presedan unutar Downtona. Imanje dobiva primamljivu ponudu filmske ekipe koja želi snimati dugometražni film u sklopu zdanja. Glumci i članovi ekipe – od Hugha Dancyja do Laure Haddock – donose novu dinamiku u odnose, a samo snimanje počinje izazivati priličnu pomutnju među vlasnicima i osobljem.
Kako bi se distancirali od kaotičnog filmskog seta, dio članova obitelj Crawley odlazi u Francusku na privremen boravak u vili koja je msteriozno poklonjena Lady Violet, nakon što je davno, tijekom mladosti, provela “nekoliko dana” s muškarcem.
